FRANCISCO LEIVA / director / choreograph /playwright / performer

Of Italian and Argentine ancestors he is born within a family of travellers in 1976 in Mendoza, Argentina near the Los Andes mountain range.Being a very young man he leaves his land for Buenos Aires to seek formation in Contemporary Dance and Choreography at the Teatro San Martín (formation scholar) and  Acting  and Directing Studies  at the Sportivo Teatral Velazco with Ricardo Bartis Already in Paris he would complete his formation with Carolin Carlson and Lisa Nelson among others. Since early age he has been related to plastic arts and music. The dance of tango has always accompanied him

On the year 2000 he formed his (theatrical) company in Paris and starts and evolutive process which has allowed him to  create scenic plays,  videos and performances. His works combine different artistic disciplines and are a product of his multidisciplinary formation and of his interest in research in the creative process.

His works have been staged in different countries such as France, Spain, Japan, Norway, Uruguay and Ecuador and in various kinds of spaces such as  large theaters, intimate theaters, underground spaces, native communities, public places, etc..

Some of his works are:

”Novecento”, Dramatic Art and Musical work; “Éxodo” (Exodus), Dance and Contemporary Theatre play; “Cuando Dora conoció a Picasso”, (When Dora met Picasso), Musical, Dance and Theatrical Show; ““La Quête dans le Reflet” (The Search in the  Reflection) installation spectacle; “Periode Blanche” (White Period), music, video, dance an theatre spectacle (multimedia show); “Sand”, video and dance;”20,20,20” directed improvisation for 60 actors, musicians, dancers and plastic artists.

He does not pretend to be classified with  one aesthetics. In his own words “my plays change of universe and to classify is to confine”.

As a professor he has been invited by the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo, Argentina and by Universidad Central del Ecuador. He has also taught in France, Japan and Spain where he teaches regular classes in Estudio 3. He is responsible for the creation of the Show Space within the Chez Robert Electron Libre in Paris (that has reached 80.000 visitors a year). He is currently residing in Madrid.

Compañia Laboratorio C.


Compañía Laboratorio C (C Laboratory Company) was created in Paris in the year 2000. Later, on 2005, it moved to Madrid. It is directed by Francisco Leivadirector, choreograph, playwright and performer.

Based on Contemporary Dance and Theatre the C Laboratory Company has  focused its research and creation works in the interweaving of different artistic disciplines (music, video and plastic arts among others). The main characteristics of its works is that they

constitute poetic and movilizing moments.. Laboratorio C creates scenic Works, perfomances , videos and various actions in diverse spaces and produces cultural events giving priority to new scenic forms and cultural interchange.
